Boiler help for Chorley

Is Murphy Gas Ltd Gas Safe registered?
This directory does not confirm registration. Anyone working on a gas boiler in the UK must be on the Gas Safe Register, so check it directly using the company name or the postcode (PR7 1HP) before booking, and ask to see the engineer's Gas Safe ID card on the day.
How often does a boiler need servicing?
Once a year for a gas boiler, ideally before winter. An annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer keeps most manufacturer warranties valid, and for a rented home it is the landlord's legal duty (the CP12 gas safety record).
Is a new boiler covered by a warranty?
New boilers typically carry a 5 to 12 year manufacturer warranty. It is conditional on the boiler being registered shortly after installation and serviced every year by a Gas Safe registered engineer, so keep your service records.
What should I do if I can smell gas?
Turn the gas off at the meter, open windows, avoid light switches and naked flames, leave the property, and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999. Do not wait for a routine appointment.
Does a listing here mean Murphy Gas Ltd is recommended?
No. Companies appear in this directory because they are on the Companies House register under a heating trade code. A listing is not vetting, endorsement, or a guarantee that the company is trading or Gas Safe registered.
